Enjoy your own, personal, close encounter with nature. This Expedition changes constantly according to the physical ability of the group, group interests, logistics, weather and even the whimsy of participants or the animals one encounters along the way. This is a true expedition; stories surrounding it will be shared for generations.
On those trails more physically difficult, we have arranged the possibility of a “bailout for those who are simply too tired--but rarely is it exercised. Generally, a physically difficult day then a physically easier day is planned for the Expedition--so that all can participate fully, and enjoy the entire Expedition.
Our campsites have a rustic kitchen/ dining room constructed in the traditional style of the region. The toilet facilities are latrines. All tents are set up on a bamboo platform with a thatched roof. The tents are roomy and contain roomy camping mattresses, each with a comfortable pillow. Clean sheets and towels are provided daily. Kerosene lanterns light the campsite; however, a personal flashlight is required. Our world-class logistical team of 15, working behind the scenes, make this entire experience possible. They will have all in readiness by the time you arrive. In addition, they carry your packs for you along the way.
Entice them to sing a few native songs to add to the flavor and enjoyment of the time you spend in our beautiful Jungle. All our expeditions are flexible; we will organize and manage the process day by day with the guide and our guests.
Day 1
: Arrival/Quito
You arrive in Quito with your international flight. We welcome you at the Airport and bring you to your Hotel.
Day 2
: Quito - Coca
We will pick you up and take you to the airport where our representative will help you for your flight to the Amazon Jungle.
A 25-minute flight follows after which a La Selva representative will again meet you for your trip down the Napo River 2 1/2 hour by one of the motor launches to the lodge.
Arrival to La Selva Jungle Lodge dock, staff will help you carrying your luggage. A complimentary welcome cocktail and snacks will greet you in the bar along with the Naturalist guides who will give you a preliminary explanation of the many options that are available to you and which will comprise your La Selva experience. A combination of adventure travel and ecotourism depending on your tastes. The first excursion will be organized as soon as you are ready.
Day 2 - 7: Jungle Excursions
3 Night accommodation at La Selva Jungle Lodge and 2 nights jungle camping.
During your stay you will make daily expeditions to the jungle. All the expeditions are flexible; La Selva will organize and manage the process day by day with the guide and you.
Day 7:
Journey back to Quito
Travel via canoe to Coca and to the Airport, then fly to Quito. Arrive Quito, transfer to your Hotel. In the afternoon we invite you to a tour around historical Quito. Overnight you stay in you hotel in Quito
Day 8: Departure
You have breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the Airport for your international flight.
